Draft for counsel review
This page is a working product draft, not finalized legal advice. Do not treat it as binding until Capnodes counsel publishes an approved version.
This Privacy Policy is a working draft describing how Capnodes (“we”) collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use Capnodes. It is not final legal advice and will be reviewed by counsel before production launch.
Data we collect. Account data (name, work email, role/persona, firm affiliation); profile and preference data; content you submit (messages, meeting details, CRM notes, research drafts); device/log data needed for security and reliability; and communications with support.
How we use data. To authenticate users, operate matching/messaging/meetings/research features, send transactional email (when enabled), improve product quality, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies). Contract performance, legitimate interests (platform security, product analytics, B2B matching), consent where required (optional marketing), and legal obligation.
Sharing. We share data with infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting, auth, email delivery such as Resend), and with other Capnodes users according to product visibility rules (e.g. matched counterparties, Research Wire audience). We do not sell personal data.
International transfers. Data may be processed in regions where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards.
Retention. We retain account and organization data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for audit, disputes, and legal compliance, then delete or anonymize where feasible.
Your rights. Depending on jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact privacy@capnodes.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Security. We use access controls, encryption in transit, and role-based permissions. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
